Braveheart joins the Crusade!

A Lancashire football legend has a new goal after joining the crusade against empty property rates.

Former Scotland star Colin Hendry – affectionately known as ‘Braveheart’ during a sparkling playing career – has signed up for a consultancy role with Crusader Empty Property Rates Avoidance.

“Business owners across the UK are crumbling under the burden of empty property rates and they need to know what can be done to save themselves significant money,” said Colin, who captained his country and the 1998 World Cup Finals, won a Premier League title with Blackburn Rovers and also enjoyed successful spells with Manchester City and Glasgow Rangers.

“What Crusader Empty Property Rates Avoidance can offer is impressive and my role is to help get the message out there.”

Sam Sayle, senior coordinator of Preston-based Crusader Empty Property Rates Avoidance added: “We are delighted to welcome aboard someone with Colin’s stature and profile. As a customer-focussed consultant, he has a key part to play as we continue to strive to save owners up to 93% on empty rates for retail, offices, warehouses and industrial premises that lie empty.

“Empty property rates are a tough opponent for owners of empty commercial properties with millions of pounds being shelled out every year. That’s a massive drain on resources, particularly given the current economic climate and the ongoing struggle to find tenants. It is imperative that property owners discover that there are solutions available and Colin will help us to achieve this.”
